Today, on October 31, 2024, IG Metall and the Association of the Bavarian Metal and Electrical Industry in Munich meet for the decisive third round of the tariff talks. Both sides have emphasized that they want to reach a quick agreement. But the fronts seem hardened: while IG Metall calls for an immediate wage increase of seven percent, employers only offer 1.7 percent from July 2025 and 1.9 percent from July 2026. A clear conflict that puts the nerves of the employees to the test!

warning strikes and rallies everywhere!

The warning strikes are in full swing and affect 19 companies across Bavaria. Among other things, rallies take place at ZF in Passau and Siemens in Cham. The union is combative and leaves no doubt that it wants to secure the purchasing power of the employees. Horst Ott, the head of IG Metall Bavaria, explains: "We want to quickly achieve a tariff result at the negotiating table that strengthens the purchasing power of the employees and thus also the economy."

The employers, on the other hand, warn of the consequences of falling production and the shrinking orders. They argue that many companies are at their load limit. But IG Metall cannot be intimidated and remains stubborn. The coming days will be decisive, because on Thursday there will be further negotiations in other tariff districts. The pressure is increasing and the metallers are ready to fight for their rights!
