Winterchaos in Bavaria: DWD warns of storm, frost and smoothness!
The German Weather Service (DWD) published a number of weather warnings for Bavaria for the period from Monday to Tuesday, January 7, 2025. In particular, there is a warning of freezing rain, which will affect the eastern circles between midnight and Tuesday morning (7 a.m.). The cities concerned include Cham, Straubing, Rain, Freyung-Grafenau, Deggendorf, Passau and several other counties.
On the evening of January 6th, the storm location in Bavaria changed, so that the warning of wind gusts was lifted in some eastern circles. However, the warning of storm gusts and severe gusts of wind remains in the north and south of the Free State. The districts of Bad Kissingen, Rhön-Grabfeld, Haßberge, Coburg, Lichtenfels, Kronach, Kulmbach and Hof are particularly affected. In some regions such as the Oberallgäu, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Berchtesgadener Land, heavy gusts of wind with wind speeds of up to 100 km/h are expected until Tuesday, 8 a.m.
