Teisendorf: Two clubs, three football teams - that's how it works!
In the small community of Teisendorf in the Berchtesgadener Land district, football brodents! Here are not the first teams, but the third teams of the two clubs, DJK Weildorf and SV Oberteisendorf. On November 9, the spectators experienced an exciting duel that is second to none in the region. With a total of six men's teams from just two clubs, Teisendorf is a real football phenomenon in the home in Inn/Salzach!
Mathias Berschl, the department head of the DJK Weildorf, explains that the impressive number of 1048 members not only comes from Weildorf itself, whose population is around 240. The village community, consisting of traditional costumes, music band and fire brigade, ensures a strong cohesion that promotes football enthusiasm. "Everyone helps everyone," says Berschl, who is proud of the eight youth teams who are active under their club. The women's team, which plays in a syndicate with TSV Petting and SV Oberteisendorf, also contributes to diversity.
unique football structures
Michael Schallinger, head of SV Oberteisendorf department, emphasizes that, despite the challenges in the youth field, around 70 players who are enthusiastic about football are also active. The foundation of a third men's team in the 2021/22 season shows that football is also booming here. Both department heads agree: "All players get the same training, there is no separation between the teams." This promotes team spirit and the fun of the game, which is crucial for the success of the clubs.
But how does it succeed in keeping three men's teams in the game? "It will be difficult when all three teams play away on the same day," explains Berschl. The rural structure and the harvest time represent additional challenges. Nevertheless, you can count on young players who travel specially from Munich or Passau to take part in the training. "Something must be offered both in terms of sport and socially," emphasizes Schallinger, which strengthens the cohesion and motivation of the players.
