An exciting day full of discoveries and learning! The protective area at the Berchtesgaden grammar school, which is now proudly certified as a national park and biosphere school, captivated all students. With a total of 19 exciting events, organized by the experts from the Berchtesgaden National Park and the Berchtesgadener Land Biosphere region, the topic of nature and sustainability was made alive and tangible.
The lower school students turned into passionate water researchers in the picturesque Wimbachtal and expanded their knowledge of majestic stone eagles and beard valley in the Klausbach valley. The middle school dipped into role -playing games, which addressed usage conflicts in the national park, and learned in interactive workshops how to consume sustainably and reduce your own ecological footprint. A 9th grade grabbed the nature conservation at Taubensee and freed the meadow of undesirable growth - to the delight of the alpine farmers! The 10 classes mastered an exciting climate escape game and acquired valuable knowledge of climate protection.

The high school students researched the secrets of forest management in the national park under the motto "Wilder Wald" in small groups. They went on the footsteps of the game with a national park hunter and learned up close how the visitor steering of a national park works. The geological treasures of the Wimbach valley were also discovered and amazed.
This year's protective area was a complete success! With a varied program that aroused the curiosity of the students, this proven concept will continue in the next school year. In this way, young people are not only familiar with domestic nature, but also learn how they can lead a sustainable lifestyle.
