A few days ago, construction workers renewed about 15 to 20 meters of a defective canal line without having to open the road over a large area. This technology, known as inliner procedure, enables the production of a new pipe within the old, which saves time and costs, such as reported.

The innovative inliner procedure has clear advantages. It not only avoids lengthy road closures, but also protects the nerves of the residents and road users because the streets do not have to be torn open. The tube-soaked hose intensified with glass fibers is pushed into the old tube and then hardened with UV light, which creates a durable, static self-supporting tube. Nevertheless, the procedure is not suitable for all damage. In the case of massive damage or static dangers, renewal in open construction is often required. This year, a total of 17 channels in different streets such as Bürgerreuther Straße, Glockenstraße and Justus-Liebig-Straße will be renovated in Bayreuth as part of this procedure. In total, this comprises about 590 meters of hose lines. The completion of the work is planned for mid -December, as Volker Stolbinger, head of department in the civil engineering office, explained to the media.
