New bike path on the B85: More security for cyclists between Kulmbach and Bayreuth!

The safety of cyclists on the B 85 has taken a decisive step forward: a new walking and cycle path between Leuchau and the confluence with swinging was ceremoniously released after around eleven months. The project, which cost a proud three million euros, is part of the ambitious route, which connects Kulmbach and Bayreuth. Now cyclists can drive more comfortably and more comfortably along the busy road, such as the Bayreuther Tagblatt emphasizes.

The project not only aims at safety, but also places a strong focus on nature conservation. A drilled stream was exposed and integrated into the new underpass, which enables amphibians to cross safe crossing. Uwe Zeuschel, head of the Bayreuth state building office, emphasized the positive importance of the new infrastructure for the region. "With the completion of this section, we significantly improve the cycling infrastructure between Kulmbach and Bayreuth," says Zeuschel. The official conclusion and inauguration of the path are planned for spring 2025, even if the last remaining work is completed after the winter break.
