Wald gifts for Christmas: Forest farm donates Wildwurst!

In a pre -Christmas act of charity, the Hammelburg forest company once again donated wild sausage to the boards in Gemünden and Hammelburg. A total of 200 glasses of wild sausage and 180 wild salamis were provided, half of which were distributed to each board. The sausages come from wild boars and red deer from the forests of the forestry and were refined by the wild meat processor "Wild Frank, Kulinna’s Wild Specialties" in Würzburg. Luise Smolik von der Tafel Hammelburg explained that every donation, no matter how small, is of great importance for the boards, especially at a time when demand is increasing and the willingness to donate decreases.

sustainability in forestry

The Hammelburg forest company is not only known for its charitable initiatives, but also for its sustainable management of around 15,800 hectares of forest in the districts of Bad Kissingen and Main-Spessart. Around 109,000 square meters of wood are harvested annually, while new forests are planted at the same time. This sustainable forestry makes it possible to use wood for construction and industry and at the same time promote nature conservation and relaxation. The company also offers numerous leisure options, such as 580 kilometers of forest paths that can be used as cycle and hiking trails. According to the Bavarian State Forests, the forests of the company are also living space for many endangered plants and animals, including the black stork and the wild cat.

This fundraising campaign reflects the values of community and support, which both the Hammelburg forestry and the boards in Gemünden and Hammelburg maintain. Both organizations want to wish people in the region a happy and healthy Christmas, which is impressively underlined by the distribution of wild sausage and the commitment to sustainable forestry.
