Citizens' meeting in Elfershausen: Disappointment about village renewal!

The first citizens' meeting of the year took place in the Sportheim of Machtilshausen, but the empty chairs spoke volumes! Mayor Johannes Krumm presented current topics and looked back on the most striking events of the year. The mood was steamed, and that was a reason: the disappointment about the cancellation of the village renewal, which after intensive discussions and anticipation came to the redesign of the village square and Kapellenstrasse at the last minute. The funding was exhausted and the beautiful plans were postponed indefinitely.

Despite the setbacks, Machtilshausen celebrated an impressive 1200th anniversary. Thanks to the committed volunteers, a place of space with an insect hotel and a water feature on the Dorfbach was realized. Mayor Krumm thanked everyone who contributed to this great festival of the village community.

wind power and infrastructure

Another hot topic was wind power. The citizens called for a relocation of the planned wind energy project from the "Hohen Roth" to the "Jewenweg" towards waterless after there had already been protests against the original location. Wind electricity generation currently generates income of 120,000 euros annually. In addition, the need for a land consolidation in the community forest was discussed to summarize smaller areas.

The municipality also plans to improve the road and supply infrastructure. To this end, ten percent of the channels are to be used in the local roads annually. Machtilshausen is on the list of candidates for these measures. In the future, the kindergarten will be provided with Essen by the new “Kindervilla” in Elfershausen, and a citizens' bus is to start the districts. The cost of the shuttle is around 5000 euros annually.

In the Machtilshausen hallway, several paths were renovated at the request of the hunting comrades. Over 2.5 kilometers have been rebuilt in cooperation with various partners, and the total costs of around 22,000 euros are shared by the market town and the hunting comrades. Another step towards a lively and well -networked community!
