Strom network expansion: New 380 kV lines for the Untermain region!
Aschaffenburg, Deutschland - Amprion plans to build an enormous 380 kV current line, which is to run from the Urberach substation in Hesse to the Aschaffenburg substation in Bavaria. This new management is decisive for coping with the increasing electricity requirements in the densely populated regions of the southeastern Hesse and in the northwest of Bavaria. The details were recently presented at information events in which around 200 citizens took part, in which valuable information on route planning was collected, such as Amprion reported .
Important details on the planning and route course
The new line will be around 30 kilometers long and is to lead over four route corridors, which mostly follow the existing 110 kV lines. Amprion has already held numerous meetings with public authorities and municipalities to find the best possible solution for this significant infrastructure measure. Commissioning is scheduled for 2035, which shows how complex and time-consuming such projects are, as well as Main-echo reported .
The expected costs for the new building amount to around 132.75 million euros, which underlines the urgent need to meet the challenges in the field of renewable energies and the changing energy landscape. It is expected that the Federal Network Agency will take the first steps in the approval process by 2027, which illustrates the important role of Amprion as one of the main actors in the German power grid.
