Warning strike in Bavaria: IG Metall demands 7% more wages for employees!

In a dramatic uprising of the workers, IG Metall has proclaimed the second warning strike week in Bavaria, and Grammer AG in Haselmühl is the focus of this tense discussion! The early shifts in the factory ended an hour earlier, while a loud rally took place in front of the goal. The work also temporarily came to a standstill at the locations of UrsenSollen, Ebermannsdorf and Immenstetten. The wave of the protest also rolled over the Luitpoldhütte in Amberg and the Benteler factory in Schwandorf.

The union raises clear demands: an increase in wages by a whopping seven percent and an additional 170 euros per training year for the trainees! Udo Fechtner, the 1st representative of IG Metall in Amberg, left no doubt that the previous offer of employers - only 1.7 percent more from July 1, 2025 - was not sufficient. "What the employers have offered so far doesn't really help," he emphasized. Lars Roeder, a committed trade unionist, added: "We do not demand the seven percent because we are funny, but because we need them." The severely increased cost of living are an urgent problem that cannot be ignored.

warning strikes throughout Bavaria

On Monday, according to the union, warning strike calls were given in a total of 27 companies all over Bavaria. IG Metall district manager Horst Ott already sees the first successes of the actions. "With our warning strike start, we brought movement to the collective bargaining negotiations," he is quoted in a press release. "Now we want to achieve progress in money with intensive warning strikes to strengthen the purchasing power of the employees." The situation is heading and the workers fight for their rights!
