Quiet holidays: ILS Oberpfalz-Nord draws positive balance!

The integrated control center (ILS) Upper Palatinate-Nord took a pleasant balance during the Christmas holidays from December 24th to 26th, 2024. A total of 582 missions were coordinated, with the majority of the missions being routine.

On Christmas Eve there was a false alarm in Burglengenfeld due to chimney soot, which alarmed the fire brigade. On the first Christmas holiday, the fire brigade moved out to a burning Advent wreath in Altenstadt/WN and was able to quickly extinguish the fire. In Weiden, a missing resident of a senior citizens' home was found, but well found in the area. In Auerbach, the fire brigade had to intervene with considerable smoke development due to burned food, and in Trausnitz there was a technical defect on a heavily smoking socket.

On the second Christmas day, the emergency services carried out various rescue campaigns for animals. A swan was saved from a pond in Oberwildenau and a deer was protected from collapsing into the ice on the frozen mantle bathing pond. A duck was also freed from the water guard and the fire brigade at the Eixendorfer reservoir. Amberg city center also required intervention when there was a fight with up to 30 participants, and fortunately no injured people had to be transported.

In willow, a car caused several accidents in which a person was injured and the car crashed into a garage. The THW construction consultant was consulted for the damage assessment. A total of 539 emergency services, 13 fire operations and 30 technical assistance were recorded during the holidays, with 289 missions in Amberg and 250 in Weiden.
