Rescue actions in autumn: Bergwacht Amberg provides quick help!
Last Saturday, October 22nd, a remarkable day for the Amberg mountain rescue guard, which had to deal with three missions within a few hours in the Amberg-Sulzbach district and in the Nuremberg region. In wonderful autumn weather, many outdoor enthusiasts were traveling, which inevitably made the use of mountain rescue. The first emergency calls arrived around 2:30 p.m. when a hiker on the Hohlen rock over the Happurger reservoir was injured in a fall on the lower leg.
The Bergwacht Amberg was quickly alerted, which, together with the mountain rescue companies Lauf-Hersbruck and Nuremberg, the emergency services and the rescue helicopter Christoph 27, rushed to the site. Due to the location, the injured person could only be reached with off -road vehicles. The patient received the necessary medical care on site and was fixed in a special air rescue bag. The evacuation was elaborate: the man was transported in a mountain strain with rope protection up to the wall foot, in order to be flown out of the terrain with the help of the helicopter.further missions in the Hirschbachtal
The third emergency occurred around 4.30 p.m. when an 87-year-old man stumbled to Hahnbach in collecting mushrooms in the forest and suffered a head injury. The on -site emergency services could not transport him with a conventional ambulance. The mountain rescue service came into play again and supported with an off -road vehicle to successfully complete this use.
The effectiveness and cooperation of the various mountain guards was particularly emphasized by Alexander Renner, a member of the Amberg mountain rescue guard. "Cross -border cooperation can be felt on such operational days," he said. Vehicles of the nearest units are always used as quickly as possible, which means that in regions such as the Hirschbach valley, forces from several counties often work together.
Jakob Volkert, the head of operations of the Nuremberg Land emergency services, underlined the smooth cooperation between the different emergency services. This integrative approach to emergency rescue is of great importance, especially when it comes to quick help in rough terrain. Such efforts are a challenge, but also show the high professionalism and the willingness of the emergency services to do their best.
For all interested and participants, it is important to be aware of what a coordinated effort is behind the rescue actions. It is not only the individual performance of the mountain rescue service, but also the harmonious cooperation between different units that can make the difference in critical moments.
