Amberg, Deutschland - The ecological-democratic party (ÖDP) nominated its direct candidates for the upcoming federal elections on December 27, 2024 in Lauterhofen. The choice fell unanimously on Susanne Witt, a 55-year-old graduate from Amberg. Neumarkt district chairman Ludwig Härtis warned in his speech of a possible "grand coalition of the standstill", which could result from the continuing conflicts within the traffic light coalition.
In her speech, Susanne Witt clearly positioned himself for an ecological turn. It cleaned up prejudices in terms of climate protection, heat pumps and renewable energies and called for a fundamental change from growth thinking to the circular economy. Witt emphasized that ecological stability and common good must be taken into account in the overall economic invoice. In particular, she spoke out for an ecosocial tax and tax reform that taxes resource consumption and not human work. Ten joint demands have been formulated that indicate the need for an effective circular economy:

- Active design of the European legal framework
- Visible anchoring of the circulatory management policy in a Federal Department (Federal Ministry of Economics)
BDE President Anja Siegesmund emphasized the need for concrete steps to promote a functioning circular economy. BVSE President Henry Forster also warned of the dramatic economic situation and the high political hurdles that companies have to cope with. VBS President Stefan Böhme called for faster approval processes and more freedom for economic development in order to adequately cope with the challenges.
