Contemplative evening in St. Katharina: music, meditation and more!

An unforgettable evening full of consolation and musical sounds await visitors in the Amberg cemetery church of St. Katharina! On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 7 p.m., OTH AMBERG-WEIDE's university counseling invites you to a meditative experience that treats the topics of transience, farewell and death in a sensitive way. Entry is free and everyone is welcome to take part in this special event!

The event promises a captivating mix of spiritual music, prayer and meditation. The talented vocal student Smilla Maier from Munich/Sulzbach-Rosenberg will enchant the audience with baroque solo songs. She is supported by Dieter Müller, a renowned choir and orchestra leader from Amberg, who plays the flute, and university assistant Markus Lommer, who ensures the musical accompaniment on the baroque organ. The meditative texts are made by Prof. Dr. Mandy Hommel, the Vice President of the OTH Amberg-Weiden, impressively read.

This meditative evening is an invitation to deal with your own experiences of loss and grief in an autumn atmosphere. The university pastoral care would like to offer everyone interested the opportunity to be touched by music and meditation. During the event, donations are welcome in favor of the St. Georg organ construction support association to support the musical tradition in the region.
