Construction work on B 28: Gas high pressure line and nodes in focus!

From Monday, December 2, 2024, Bad Urach becomes the setting for a large construction project! The laying of a gas high pressure line for the expansion of the "waterfall" nodes and "high -rise" on the B 28 is imminent. As early as the 48th calendar week 2024, the preparatory work begins in which the construction site is set up. The actual implementation of the existing gas pipe to the newly laid line is planned for May 2025.

The Fairnetz GmbH takes over the work in two construction phases. In the first section, the management of Dettingen to the parking lots south of Bäderstrasse is relocated on a distance of around 250 meters. During this time, the B 28 is constricted and south, which results in a speed reduction at 50 km/h. Part of the parking spaces at the thermal bath are also closed. In the event of favorable weather conditions, the work should be completed by mid/late December 2024.

In January 2025, the second construction phase begins, in which the line in Bäderstraße to the gas pressure control station is laid south of the Diegelewehr. This requires a full closure of the Bäderstraße, about which the regional council will inform you in a separate press release. The new gas high pressure line up to Burgstrasse will be relocated in parallel to the work on the expansion of the nodes from spring 2025.

The redesign of the "waterfall" and "high -rise" nodes is crucial for improving the transport infrastructure. The planning includes a western laying of the Bäderstraße confluence, a foot and cycle path bridge over the B 28 as well as additional lanes and a new bridge structure on Stuttgarter Straße. The planning approval decision was issued on June 20, 2024 and is final. The main construction measures are scheduled to begin in spring 2025 with the aim of handing over the nodes before the garden show in 2027.
