Magical evening: Supermond and Comet enchant the night sky!

Brittheim, Deutschland - On Thursday evening, astronomy enthusiasts experienced a fascinating encounter between two heavenly bodies. The brightest super moon of the year, a sign of approaching the moon to the earth, offered an impressive spectacle, while at the same time the comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas, also known as C/2023 A3, pulled its track in the night sky.

The peculiarity of this supermoon lies in size and brightness, which are reinforced by the proximity to the earth. On the same evening, the comet was visible, the tail of which can be seen in the western evening sky under optimal visibility conditions. The observatory Zollern-Alb, which informs about the developments of the two phenomena, explains that the comet is expected to be observed with the naked eye by October 19. The comet follows a pre -calculated course and will lose weight by the end of October - a real highlight for star lovers.

Observatory Zollern-Alb is committed

In order to promote the public astronomy interest, the Zollern-Alb observatory participates in the nationwide Astronomy Day. On October 19, from 7 p.m., a free observation program will be offered that gives hobby astronomers and interested parties the opportunity to take a closer look at the astronomical phenomena. This is particularly important because the visibility is decisive for the observations.

The anticipation of such special nights is reinforced by the possibility of seeing the comet and the Supermond at the same time. Clear nights are crucial because clouds can hinder the view of the celestial bodies. Astronomers and amateur observers are therefore called to ask good weather conditions in order not to miss the impressive spectacle.
