New era on Fastnacht: Roland Haag follows Wehrle as President!

The Association of Swabian-Alemannic Fool Guilds has made a change of leadership. Roland Wehrle hands over his position as President to Roland Haag after 29 years. The election took place during the 30th general meeting in Laufenburg (Waldshut district). Haag, 60 years old and from Bad Waldsee, was the guild master of the Waldseer Fasnet until 2024.

Roland Haag received 64 votes in the election, while there were three abstentions and three votes against. An opposite candidate did not compete. Roland Wehrle, who worked for the association for 45 years, did not compete for re -election. His merits include the founding of the Cultural Foundation of the Schwäbisch-Alemannic Fastnacht in 2002.

Wehrle's merits and volunteering

Wehrle played an important role in the start of the Swabian-Alemannic Fastnacht in the national list of intangible cultural heritage in 2014. His roots lie in Furtwangen, where he was already active as a child as a child. After his presidency, he would like to continue to take part in the Fastnacht, but without official obligations.
