Over 2,600 volunteers leave Baden-Württemberg with financial help!
Baden-Württemberg, Deutschland - Berlin/Stuttgart-A dramatic exodus from Baden-Württemberg! This year, more than 2,600 migrants, including many with rejected asylum applications, have left the region voluntarily - and with financial support! Justice and Migration Minister Marion Gentges (CDU) revealed that thanks to the BUND-LANDER program, a total of 2,607 people traveled from the southwest by the end of September.
The state government is targeting return advice centers and offers financial incentives, especially for nationals from migration -related countries such as Turkey. "We want to help people leave the region," said Gentges. The increase in voluntary departure is remarkable: by the end of October, 1,251 people traveled through the RES/GARP program, which makes Baden-Württemberg the third highest state in this statistics, only behind Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia.
Financial support and return aids
The numbers speak for themselves: Compared to the previous year, when only 1,090 people with financial help came out of the southwest, a clear trend is evident. The RES/GARP program offers central migrants financial support for flight and bus tickets as well as medical help. "Deportations are more expensive than volunteers," explains the AfD member of the Bundestag Leif-Erik Holm and demands that you use all the ways to move rejected asylum seekers to leave.
A total of 8,263 financially supported exits nationwide were recorded in the first ten months of the year, which is a slight decline compared to the previous year. Around 8.2 million euros have already been granted from the federal-state funding. However, the exact costs for this year are still unclear because the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees has applied for funding that could cover 90 percent of the costs. The situation remains tense, while the return aids are still in focus.
