Adidas exceeds expectations: profits and sales increase strongly!
In a pleasant turn for the sporting goods manufacturer Adidas, the company has adapted its annual forecast after a very positive third quarter. According to the company from Herzogenaurach, the operating result is now expected to be around 1.2 billion euros. Adidas reported sales growth of around 10 percent on a currency -clear basis in the third quarter. Influence of the Yeezy collection
A relevant factor for the positive development of the operating result was a profit of 50 million euros from the sale of remaining stocks of the Yeezy collection. After the controversial statements by the rapper Kanye West, who forced Adidas to end the collaboration at the end of 2022, the company started selling beforehand in 2023. These changes and the associated challenges had heavily burdened the past financial year.
The company assumes that the sale of the remaining Yeezy stocks will continue to be cost-covering. As a result, an additional turnover of around 50 million euros could be realized in the fourth quarter, although this will not generate any additional profit contributions. The estimates and adaptations of the forecasts show that, despite the previous turbulence, Adidas has not only recovered, but can also look optimistically into the future.
