Kuhmoosbach Bridge: Frustration and hope in front of the winter image!

Villingen-Schwenningen, Deutschland - The Kuhmoosbach Bridge on the L181 between Pfaffenweiler and Villingen causes excitement! Drivers have had to accept detours for months and the nerves are bare. The bridge that has been over the little Kuhmoosbach since 1971 should actually be ready in September 2024. But now the new completion date has been postponed to December 5, 2024! The reason is numerous delays that cause frustration and unrest in the region.

heavy rain in May led to a construction stop, and construction defects in the 106 bored piles stopped the work. Wolfgang Thedy from the Freiburg regional council said that these problems have moved the completion further and further. But now there is hope: there is a spirit of optimism on the construction site! The shell is ready -to -structure and the last concrete sealing work is running. The construction crane is to be dismantled on November 8th and the work is going into the decisive phase.

Hope for punctual completion

Those responsible are optimistic that the traffic can flow again on the L181 on December 5th. "A winter slump with one meter of snow" could mess up everything, warns Harald Mayer. The sealing material must not be processed at temperatures below eight degrees, but the weather forecasts are currently cheap. The construction work is on the right track, and the 1,000 cubic meters of filling material that is required for the bridge are already available on the construction site.

The construction costs amount to 2.3 million euros, and the work is urgently necessary to ensure the safety of the bridge. The drivers can therefore breathe a sigh of relief - the return to normalcy on the L181 seems to be within reach!
