Strengthening volunteering: Intensive funding workshop in Villingen-Schwenningen!

In the city of Villingen-Schwenningen there was a special event that devoted itself exclusively to the topic of funding. This supports the German Foundation for Engagement and Volunteering (Dseer) in a number of nationwide workshops. On a Saturday, many committed members of clubs came together to deepen their knowledge of the application for funding.

The Mayor Detlev Bührer opened the event on behalf of Mayor Roth and expressed his thanks for the participants for their commitment. Those present were ready to sacrifice their free time in order to learn more about the possibilities of promoting funding. In three consecutive workshops, they were able to deal more intensively with various aspects of the application. Under the guidance of experienced speakers of the fundraising academy, the participants received practical tips on the successful research of donors and the wording of convincing support applications.

content of the workshops

The workshop not only included theoretical transfer of knowledge, but also offered the participants the opportunity to actively work on their individual projects. In this way, they were supported in writing project descriptions and financing plans, which offered a direct way to apply the learned content. The aim was to enable the participants to develop their own applications that increase the chances of successful funding. An essential part of the workshop was also the definition of clear goals and measures for the respective projects.

In addition, the event also offered an excellent opportunity to network between the various clubs. Participants from Villingen-Schwenningen and other cities such as Freiburg, Karlsruhe and Tübingen were able to exchange ideas and make valuable contacts that could be useful beyond the day. This not only strengthens the community, but also the willingness to cooperate between the clubs.

The volunteer office of the Office for Youth, Education, Integration and Sport (Jubis) of the city of Villingen-Schwenningen significantly supported the event. In addition to providing the premises, they also took care of the food, so that the participants could concentrate entirely on the content. Jubis sees the funding workshop as an important step to strengthen the volunteer in the region, and many participants were positive about the benefits of the event.

Overall, the event showed how important such offers are for committed club members. The possibility of learning directly from experts and at the same time working on individual projects was perceived as enormously helpful. The threshold for applying for funding is to be reduced in order to implement more projects in the region.
