Wolfgang Müller: A life for Stuttgart - City History mourns!
Wolfgang Müller died on January 6, 2025 at the age of 89. He was a formative personality for Stuttgart's city history and was committed to Stuttgart for over 19 years as chairman of the Stuttgart Initiative. Müller was passionate about the construction of the city palace, which opened in April 2018. As a doctorate in the company and economist, he was also the managing director of Württemberg residential building until his retirement in 1997.
Müller was a zealous photo supplier for the Stuttgart album and for the newsletter "STZ back then". His commitment to city history was particularly evident in his efforts to create a museum into a culture of remembrance, for which he has campaigned for since 1999. His criticism was directed against the association, among other things, which demanded the demolition of the Catherine stuck. Müller campaigned for the preservation of historically significant buildings and believed that the König-Wilhelm monument belongs to the city palace.
