Svanberg back in training: is the comeback against Union Berlin?

Wolfsburg. Mattias Svanberg shines with joy! The Swedish international, who has only been able to watch in the past few weeks, is ready for his comeback at VfL Wolfsburg. After a painful ligament tear in the ankle, which he contracted 2-2 against VfB Stuttgart, he worked hard to get fit again. "I feel better and better every day," says the 25-year-old optimistic. On November 23rd he finally wants to be back on the pitch against Union Berlin.

The past few months have been a real challenge for Svanberg. After an shoulder operation at the end of last season, he had to get through another injury. "It is difficult to process the constant setbacks," he admits. But despite the setbacks, he remains positive: "There are players who injured themselves more seriously when I was out and longer." Svanberg, who is considered a box-to-box player, is determined to finally show his qualities over a longer period of time. "That comes - I'm sure I'm sure," he adds with a smile.

Daughter Ellie helps with recovery

In this difficult time, Svanberg's daughter Ellie, who has just started running, brought him a lot of joy and distraction. "There is chaos at home. Nice chaos," he says with a smile. His family and the support of his teammates helped him enormously while preparing for his comeback. Svanberg is determined to celebrate international successes with VfL Wolfsburg, even if the start of the season was anything but optimal.

VfL is in twelfth place after ten games with only twelve points and will have important games in front of them in the coming weeks. "We have to do it too," emphasizes Svanberg, who appeals to the hard work and belief in success. His goal? "When I'm fit and play, I know: I have to score more than five goals in my position and deliver five to seven assists." The pressure is high, but Svanberg is ready to give everything!
