Royal comeback plan: Is the Kings Club Stuttgart reopened?

A legendary place for the LGBTQ+community in Stuttgart is the focus: the Kings Club, once a pulsating heart of the gay scene, has been closed since 2019. However, landlady Laura Halding-Hoppenkeit, who led the club for decades, does not give up. In a recent RTL-2 documentary with Harald Glööckler, she shows the club that has been unused for years and promises a comeback. "We have to renovate a lot for fire protection, but most of it remains as it is," she explains optimistic.

The history of the King Club is characterized by memories of prominent guests such as Freddie Mercury, who regularly stopped by. But reality is tough: Despite a new pre -contract with a donor who has nothing to do with the community, the reopening remains uncertain. "The two investors from last year have jumped off," said Halding-Hoppenkeit. The community is skeptical of whether the club ever opens its doors again.

fame party celebrates 15 years of success

"Fame stands for glamor, passion and a perfect party night," Horsch describes the concept. The parties are known for their exciting atmosphere and above all attract younger, chic gays. "Of course there is no darkroom at Fame," emphasizes Horsch and distances itself from the trend of characterizing parties as "sex positive". Instead, he relies on changing locations and a team of freelancers to continue to successfully design the party series.
