Uttenweiler: After club slides - player coach remains optimistic!
nothing but bad luck for SV Uttenweiler! After two catastrophic bankruptcies - a embarrassing 0: 4 against Ringschnait and a terrifying 0: 7 against Sigmaringen - the team is there with zero points and a goal difference of 0:11. However, coach Steffen Maurer sees more than just the painful misery as the culprit for this disastrous start in the master round of the football district league. In a gripping interview with the SZ regional sports editor Marc Dittmann, he talks about the pressing problems and hopes for improvement.
Shocking games and high defeats
The massive defensive weakness of the Uttenweiler is striking: "We sometimes have too large distances between defense and midfield, which makes it extremely difficult," says Maurer. The defense line was painfully overwhelmed against Sigmaringen in particular. "We made it too easy for the strong offensive," Maurer openly admits. Despite the hard setbacks, the trainer remains calm: "We are resistant and now just have to learn." But the self -inflicted errors also contribute to the misery.
defensive becomes a priority
Maurer announces that the next games will be under the motto "Defensive Stability". "After the two defeats, we finally have to work on our defense, reduce our distances and improve counterpressing." In order to strengthen the offensive, mason Daniel Weber posted more aggressively, as he can better capture the balls and ensure speed. "We just have to make clever decisions," the coach appeals and is certain: "If we are defensively clearer, the chances in the attack will also be more." The preparation for the next game against FV Bad Schussenried, which will increase on Sunday at 3 p.m., will be crucial. A comeback is urgently needed, but time is pushing!
