Senioren ring Sigmaringen before: Who can help?

Alarm level red for the Sigmaringer senior ring! CEO Karlheinz Gonschorek has announced that he and six other board members will resign. They withdraw due to age and leave the club to the younger ones. But the search for successors is unsuccessful! Looking for new faces for more than a year, but nobody answered. A dramatic setback for the long -term contact point for seniors in Sigmaringen!

The senior ring, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, was an important institution for older citizens. Every Thursday, seniors were able to raise their concerns in the town hall. But the enthusiasm disappears! Actions such as the popular chatter and annual excursions to the forest stage no longer attract the masses. Of the once 50 participants, almost half have recently been published. Gonschorek blames the coronapandemic: "You just want to have free time" - and club life has fallen asleep!

urgent need for action!

Time is crowded! The next club meeting is already coming up at the end of November. Gonschorek warns: "If we do not find any successors by then, I have to write in the invitation: Dissolve!" The statutes require the invitation to be sent two weeks in advance. A dramatic scenario that questions the future of the senior ring!

If new members should actually be found, they would have the freedom to change the association structure. Gonschorek hopes that the new management will follow two heart projects: the barrier -free train station and a barrier -free recycling center. However, the members of the senior ring remain active and support the new senior meeting on Leopoldplatz, which has recently moved. The city is in conversations to ensure that the advisory service will continue despite the uncertain future. A dramatic turn is imminent - remains the senior ring or will it be history?
