Bolstern 2.0: A new village center for the community is created!

A small village is facing a gigantic turn! Bolstern, the charming district of Bad Saulgau with only 400 inhabitants, will be reinvented! A brave mammoth project that is supposed to completely change the village community takes on forms. The idea was created under the direction of local mayor Bernhard Tyborski and Bernd Heggenberger, the chairman of the "Bolstern active" association. The last two years of planning have finally been worth it.

The once a few meeting points of the villagers such as the town hall and old rectory should soon be a thing of the past. A diverse “residential and service district” is planned in the Brühlwiesen on the outskirts. The Sigmaringer architect Manfred Löffler has presented an exciting vision: a community center with a village shop, café and citizen office, which is to be built directly on Ostracher Strasse! In addition, apartments for assisted living and care communities are intended. 18 more two- and three-room apartments could also be built!

The plan for a new village life

The "Bolstern active" association arose from the need to actively help shape the future. In a special project, counties and municipalities are supported to create age-appropriate living and habitats. In April 2023, up to 60 dedicated citizens came together to express their ideas and wishes. They are all determined to make Bolstern a living, attractive place for all generations!

In addition to the infrastructure, a job market is also to be created. More than a dozen villagers have already completed a carer training! Daily care for those in need of care is still being planned this year. A village shop with a café is seen as a "magnet" for the residents - the first shopping facility for many years! However, there are challenges to master - the traffic connection and secure pedestrian crossings are crucial for the success of the project!

The municipal council unanimously signed the next important steps to advance the project. The commitment of the residents impresses and together they work on the exciting vision of the new Bolstern 2.0! The path for a new village community is paved!
