District League Oberschwaben: Record and relegation round starts with drama!
Football in the Upper Swabian district league is ready for an exciting new phase. The decisive promotion and relegation rounds will begin next weekend, which are of great importance for both promoted and descending teams. In a new cycle, the teams will determine in return games who can get the direct promotion to the Landesliga and which teams have to go to the relegation. The previous points of the qualification round no longer count, which increases the tension all the more.
"We can now play freely. The relegation is safe," says Helmut Ulmer, the coach of SV Sigmaringen, who won the west qualification round. Although the points management is no longer relevant, Ulmer is optimistic about the upcoming course. However, he expresses concerns about the new mode and the long winter break of four months that the team is imminent after the last game on November 23rd.
Personnel worries in SV Uttenweiler
The SV Uttenweiler, on the other hand, is faced with considerable personnel worries. Seven regular players fail due to injury. Coach Steffen Maurer has to work with a very reduced team, which still has some talents from the second row. "I still have eleven, twelve players from the first team. The first eleven is okay, but we have to fill up with the rest of the second team," explains Maurer his difficult situation.
The internal objectives were adjusted due to the injury -related failures. "We want to stay up in the preliminary round," Maurer puts on record, which correctly leaves the hopes of returning a few long -term injuries realistically. Maurer also recognizes the Biberacher clubs as a favorite in the title fight, while he himself does not want to try anything "bird game".
enthusiasm despite imponderables
Despite the challenges, there is a positive mood among the trainers. Ulmer raves about his team's team spirit. "We currently have a lot of fun, a great cohesion," said the trainer about the atmosphere in the team. Nevertheless, he is aware that the biggest challengers in this tournament format are other teams, such as SV Sulmetingen and the last season team from Bad Schussenried.
The promotion round starts on Saturday, October 12, while the relegation round heralds its first round on Sunday, October 13th. The fans can look forward to exciting games, while the squads reach their limits to continue to pursue their ambitions in football. "The season is now a bit quieter," says Maurer, "but every point counts, especially in such a decisive phase."
These upcoming games promise to set the course for ascent or descent, whereby all eyes are focused on the performance of the individual teams.
