Weapons authorities in the Black Forest: Hunters feel under pressure!

In the Black Forest Baar district, a wave of weapon controls causes unrest among the hunters. In a letter to the members of the hunting association, the district hunter Dunja Zimmermann made it clear that general retention obligations for weapons and their keys are not observed during the controls. A total of 242 controls were carried out by December 5, with 61 weapons and numerous ammunition being secured. Various violations, especially with regard to the storage of the weapon key, led to complaints in over 54 cases, as the SÜDKURIER reported.

strict regulations and possible consequences

According to the new regulations, both weapons and keys to the weapon cabinet must be secured so that third parties have no access to it. In the recent inspections, recommendations for the safe storage of the key, including in a metallic key safe, were made. Contradiction against these requirements comes from the hunters. They see each other by the authorities and find the requirements exaggerated. In addition, a one -off violation of the retention regulations can already be seen as an unreliability of weapons law and lead to drastic punishments, as the game reported.

Furthermore, a deliberate or negligent violation of the retention regulations not only means possible fines of up to 10,000 euros, but in the worst case also criminal consequences. The authority has the right to carry out controls to ensure security, with the recent normalization of the controls after pandemeine cuts. A note from the city administration explains that these regulations are not new and that all gun owners should be familiar, which only reinforces the uncertainties among the hunters.

It is therefore more important for hunters than ever to adhere to the legal requirements in order not to endanger their gun law permits. "If you comply with your retention obligations, you have nothing to fear during a check," said a legal reference from the industry. A constructive cooperation between hunters and the authorities could also help strengthen confidence in legal gun owners while the strict controls continue.
