Start-ups in the Black Forest: founding spirit or exit to the big city?
Start-ups in the Black Forest: founding spirit or exit to the big city?
In Schwenningen there are hot news from the founding world! In the spectacular innovation Night, which took place on Thursday, October 24, innovative start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs were celebrated. The event attracted talented founders and those interested in business and offered a platform to present fresh ideas and exciting projects. Who is there? Among other things, the students Anna-Julia Bay and Amelie Horn, who presented their promising start-up "Stay Active Mobile". Your goal? An app that takes care of patients after hip surgery and should encourage them to keep fit at home.
prominent start-ups and important award ceremonies
The atmosphere was electrifying! The jury honored the start-up addiease Seatpad-a cyclist trousers that fight against seat complaints while cycling. The entrepreneurs Jan Hugger and Daniela Fehrenbach were able to look forward to two prize money: 1,000 euros for the jury price and 500 euros for the audience award. The event not only offered exciting pitches, but also important insights into the support that founders in the Schwarzwald-Baar region receive-not least from the Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences, which acts as an incubator for many ideas.
However, there was not just a jubilee: some founders, such as Oriane Joublin and Kai-Jonas Bock from Virtuapixel, left the region. Although the university gave them valuable contacts, they were looking for the adventure in Cologne, where the chances of growth are greater. Myron Leskiv, another innovator with his AI-based tax advisor, sees the thin colonization of the region as a significant obstacle. "The region is simply not optimal for start-ups," says the Ukrainian. Despite the challenges, there are positive things to report: Henriette Stanley from business development emphasizes the short distances as an advantage to help the founders quickly find support.
