Grüntonne in St. Georgen: Container too high for many citizens!

St. Georgen, Deutschland - In St. Georgen, the displeasure is bubbling! Garden owners fight with an almost impossible problem: the disposal of their green goods waste becomes a wire rope act! Whether on Wednesdays or Saturdays, the way to the recycling center behind the train station can be a challenge. Anyone who comes too early is faced with the almost impossible task of balancing heavy leaf bags into the containers that are much too high. Peter Fichter, SPD City Councilor, has now taken the word and criticizes the unreasonable conditions for many citizens, especially for the elderly, who often have difficulty lifting their waste over the high loading edge.

"The loading edge is just too high!", Fichter is outraged at the municipal council meeting. "This is not only tedious, it can also be dangerous!" A metal step could remedy the situation, but when wet or frost it becomes a slide. What if the containers are full? Then there is trouble with the supervisors who strictly prohibit the unloading next to the containers. "This is an insolence!", Fichter continued. He demands that neighboring, walk -in containers are set up at the machine ring or district office in order to facilitate use for all citizens.

Villingen: A paradise for garden waste

In comparison, the Villinger have it really good! There, citizens can simply put their garden waste on the floor, without tedious balancing in containers. The composting system on the lower Dammweg not only offers space for maneuvering, but also a stress -free submission of the waste. "Everything is so nicely organized here, it is really fun!" Rooms a resident. Meanwhile, St. Georgen with his criticized containers stays behind and fights with the dissatisfaction of its citizens.

The district office reacted to the criticism: "The containers are designed for economic reasons. We mainly use 20-cubic containers, which are equipped with promotion aids in many places." But the space is often cramped, which makes it difficult to use the containers. "The proposal to make the containers accessible is understandable, but reality looks different," explains Heike Frank, spokeswoman for the district office. The solution? A greater investment effort could be necessary to improve the situation.
