Schwäbisch Hall, Deutschland - Schwäbisch Hall (Baden-Württemberg)- An incredible find has brought the construction work in Schwäbisch Hall to a standstill! Excavator driver Luis Hauner (25) encountered a sensational tusks of a mammoth!
at the end of October, while he worked for a new residential and commercial building on a construction site, the young man drew a depth of four meters and suddenly discovered something that made his shovel to glow: a huge tushing tooth. "An amazing day. I still can't really believe it," said Hauner, who initially thought he found a bomb when his polishing warned him: "Take care! Lay it up better!"

But that was just the beginning! After the first excitement, an employee of the state monument and a private archaeologist confirmed that it was actually a mammoth tooth. With further excavations, they also found molars and bones. "The molar has had a diagonal of about 50 centimeters and weighed seven kilos," reported the experienced excavator driver.
Now the impressive fossil is examined at the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments in Tübingen. Archaeologist Yvonne Tafelmaier estimates the age of the almost one meter long tusks at around 20,000 to 115,000 years - a holdover from the last ice age! Luis Hauner does not get a finder, but the tusks now bear his name: "I'm happy about that!" It is noteworthy that Mammoth remains in this region were last discovered around 50 years ago when similar finds were made when building the district office in Schwäbisch Hall.
