Rottweiler students start as youth mentors: a strong team!

Rottweil, Deutschland - in Rottweil it is hot! 20 committed students from the Albertus-Magnus high schools, Droste-Hülshoff and Leibniz have opened up to revolutionize youth care! Start full of strength into the student mentor program, which is supported by the BDKJ Rottweil. The teenagers already show that they not only want to press the school desk, but also want to take responsibility. They are determined to help the younger students through everyday school life and to demonstrate their pedagogical skills.

On October 21, the prospective mentors gathered in the community center in rooms to take part in an intensive two -day workshop. Under the guidance of experienced trainers such as Greta Wycisk from the BDKJ and teachers such as Joachim Pilarecyk, Silvie Kech-Kuster and Almut Kammerer, the students learned everything about experience pedagogy, conflict management and even school law! The mix of theory and practice challenged the creativity of the young people while developing their own projects for their schools.

projects that inspire!

And the ideas just bubble! The students of the AMG are planning an exciting reading night with an overnight stay at school, while the topics of sustainability and healthy breaks are to be presented in new formats at the DHG. The creative minds of the LG, on the other hand, want to ensure a cozy atmosphere with delicious waffles and sandwiches and further expand their animal care group. These projects are not only a sign of their enthusiasm, but also a great way to put the newly learned skills directly into practice.

In the coming summer, the students can proudly accept their documents as officially certified student mentors. Then you have the proof in your hand that you can start in pedagogy fully - be it at school, the community or in the club. Rottweil can look forward to a new generation of committed mentors!
