Rottweil, Deutschland - An exciting step in Rottweil! Together with happy kindergarten children, Government Vice President Klemens Ficht, together with Mayor Christian Ruf, heralded the highly expected renovation work on the Neckar. The children cheerfully waved blue towels across the meadow, symbolically for the future meandering waterway - a wonderful sight how the city awakens to life!

The ambitious project focuses on the section, which extends from the mouth of the Prim to the Schindelbrücke. Under the leadership of the state company Waters in the Freiburg regional council, a proximity to nature is created here, which not only improves the water structure, but also promotes valuable habitats for flora and fauna and significantly increases flood protection through the construction of the state level.

Klemens Ficht emphasizes the importance of the project: "For Baden-Württemberg, this is one of the largest revitalization projects. Such a river redesign can be a real profit for nature and the population." Mayor Christian Ruf emphasizes that the revitalization of the Neckar is the key to realizing the State Garden Show 2028. Thanks to the generous commitment of the country, the city of Rottweil remains the necessary freedom to cope with important infrastructure projects such as the large garden show bridge.

The work is divided into two areas, and the first construction phase has already assumed form in 2022. Now the first Küntlauf between the Primmun would finally be tackled and the former Neckarwehr! When the construction site is set up, work begins with the dismantling of the concrete elements and the natural redesign of the water run. The webcam keeps interested citizens up to date with the progress - an exciting time for Rottweil!
