Rottweil says goodbye: jewelry gallery closes after 30 years!

In the city of Rottweil, the citizens have to say goodbye to two traditional shops. The "Gallery for Jewelry", which has been offering special jewelry in Metzgergasse for 30 years, will soon close its doors. The operator Thomas Schlipf only celebrated the anniversary of his shop in October and can hardly believe it: "It was a difficult decision," he says. The charming gallery with the impressive red curtain, an eye -catcher in the historic city, soon moves like the Black Forest reported.

the closure of Baywa and its effects

The sad news is the closure of the Baywa construction, zoo and garden market in Rottweil, which also takes place at the end of the year. This already marks the second closure of a BayWa market in the region after the location in Spaichingen has previously been closed. The sale of the hardware store is no longer profitable, as those responsible explain. "Customers prefer larger markets with a broad range," said the company in a press release, reports the Schwäbische Zeitung .

The 17 employees are affected by the closure. Verdi union secretary Markus Klemt expresses that a severance payment has been negotiated for most employees, since transfers to Balingen are not an option for many. "Our employees are disappointed, but we were still able to reach some severance payments," said Klemt. In addition, the future of the Baywa fertilizer and technical location in Rottweil, which is still operated, is classified as uncertain, depending on the further business developments and legal requirements.
