Large charity golf tournament: 11,111 euros for the hospice aid!
Sonnenbühl. A radiant late summer day in Undingen formed the perfect setting for a special charity tournament of the Golf Club Reutlingen-Sonnenbühl. With 88 participants who gathered to play together, it was not just about sport, but above all about a good cause. At the end of the day, an impressive donation check in the amount of 11,111 euros was presented for the outpatient hospice service Reutlingen.
The atmosphere was great before the official start at 11 a.m. The guests were warmly welcomed by Frank-Simon Reinhold and his team, the so-called "ball shot". With coffee and homemade cake, they ensured a cozy start. Reinhold, who is both a member of the golf club and on the board of the Reutlinger Ottwil Foundation, had born the idea of launching this tournament to support the important work of the hospice service. The preparations were successful because a lot of money had already been donated and numerous raffle prizes had been made available. Sponsors had also been involved, so nothing was missing from the tournament.
a game with heart
After the greeting by golf president Matthias Eschle and Frank-Simon Reinhold, Katja Badstöber, the managing director of the outpatient hospice service, explained the tasks and offers of the association: "After 30 years, we look at an association that implements the hospice work with diverse offers." One is particularly proud of the foundation of the children's and youth hospice service, which acts as an essential building block. Rita Leonard, a team of the team, emphasized: "As a small niche service, we fulfill an important task."
Overall, the employees of the service count six employees who have the missions of a committed core team of around 30 volunteer taxes. These volunteers carry the main burden of work and are necessary to provide the person concerned the desired support.
The players then went on the round in teams of two and played a format that is known as a Chapman fourth. The partners alternately beat the ball after they have overplayed the player's ball. The focus was on the fun, and the pleasant atmosphere was additionally fueled by the beautiful backdrop of the golf course. The connection between sport and charity has once again proven how much joy commitment to others can bring.
The event impressively shows how the interaction of community, sporting activities and help works. The golf club and its members pull together to provide people in need of regional people. Information about the many offers of the hospice service is still important in public in order to appreciate the valuable work that is done there and to mobilize other supporters.
