Singapur, Singapur - Berlin (dpa) - A legendary farewell! The world -famous Sprinter Mark Cavendish, a name that stands for records and fame in cycling, ends his impressive career. The 39-year-old Brit announced on Instagram: "Sunday will be the last race of my professional cycling career." In Singapore he will celebrate his farewell in a smaller race.

"I was very lucky to do what I love most for almost 20 years," said Cavendish. He proudly looks back on a career in which he has achieved everything you can wish for. "I always wanted to make the difference in cycling, and now I am ready to start the next chapter," he added. An emotional video, which shows its greatest successes, accompanies its moving words.
