A new star in the sky of anesthesia! Dr. med. Martin Meinhold took over the position of the senior physician in the clinic for anesthesia, intensive, emergency and pain medicine at the St. Elisabethen clinic in Ravensburg. The 39-year-old Potsdam, who has his roots in Riedlingen, has had a remarkable educational path. After graduating from high school and basic military service in the medical regiment in Kempten, he studied medicine at the Ulm University Clinic from 2006 to 2013. His career as an anesthetist began in the Bundeswehr Hospital in Ulm, where he passed his specialist examination in 2018 and even completed a mission abroad in Mali.
an expert with versatile experience
dr. Meinhold is not only an experienced anesthetist, but also an emergency doctor with the additional designation of emergency medicine since 2015. After a short stay in the Sigmaringen hospital, where he was aiming for further training for special pain therapy, he finally found his way to Ravensburg. There he initially worked at the IMC station and completed further training as intensive care medicine before he was appointed senior physician in Wangen. In November 2023 he successfully completed his further training as a pain doctor.
"Anesthesiology fascinates me because it offers a far -reaching and opposite spectrum," explains Dr. Meinhold. "Chronic pain patients have to be viewed very differently than acute intensive or emergency patients. All in common is their need for help, and the medical challenges are enormous. It is a very interesting subject, and I learn to do it every day." With this passion, Dr. Meinhold certainly make a significant contribution to patient care in Ravensburg.
