Strike arm: IG Metall plans star march at the Mercedes in Rastatt!

Alarm mood at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Rastatt! On November 5, IG Metall will conquer the streets with an impressive star march. Employees from all over the region gather to emphasize their demands. The pressure on employers increases immeasurably!

Bodo Seiler, the first representative of IG Metall Gaggenau, announced during a meeting of the local board that the union with warning strikes in the region also wants to make it clear to employers: it cannot go on like this! The star march begins at 12.30 p.m. and leads from goal 1 of the work to the parking lot of the customer center. A rally will take place there, in which employees of supply companies and Getinge and Siemens will also take part.

IG Metall has already continued in several federal states, and the numbers are alarming: around 30,000 employees have joined the protests nationwide. In the first four days there were even 216,000 people who raised their voice! And the biggest campaign took place on Monday in the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen, where 10,000 employees took care of the work at 8:30 a.m. For the 3.9 million employees, the union calls for a wage increase of seven percent with a contract term of only one year. Employers, on the other hand, offer only 1.7 percent from July 2025 and 1.9 percent from July 2026 - an unsustainable offer!

IG Metall has commissioned the district chiefs of the tariff districts of coast and Bavaria to negotiate with employers next Monday, November 11th, about a possible pilot. The Situation is heading and the employees are ready to fight for their rights!
