In Südbaden, especially in the Ortenaukreis, buses and trains stand still, while the SWEW expects dramatic failures. This Wednesday and Thursday, public transport will come to a standstill and the travelers are warned: there will be chaos -like conditions!

The Ortenaukreis is particularly affected. In Schutterwald, Kehl and Lahr, bus traffic is completely strike. "There will be no buses!" Warns the transport company. The school buses are also out and replacement traffic is not in sight. In Offenburg, city bus traffic on both strikes remains paralyzed. The Ortenau-S-Bahn will also be severely impaired, and the Sweg expects that no train traffic can take place on most routes, including the popular Achertalbahn and Harmersbachtalbahn.

The reasons for this radical step are clear: ver.di calls for the employees to increase wage and inflation compensation. From October, the union will request 350 euros more per month and an inflation compensation of 1,300 euros. The employers' association offered only an increase of three percent and an inflation compensation of 600 euros - this is completely inadequate for ver.di! Negotiations continue on November 11th, and the union makes it clear: the pressure is increased to get a fair offer.
