drama in Willstätt-Hesselhurst: Fire breaks out in the attic apartment-residents are seriously injured when attempting to rescue!

In early Tuesday morning, November 19, 2024, around 6:00 a.m., a devastating fire broke out in an apartment building in Willstätt-Hesselhurst, Baden-Württemberg. The flames slapped from the attic apartment and spread quickly into the roof structure. The dramatic scenes took place in front of the eyes of the alarmed fire brigade, which came with a large contingent to bring the situation under control.

The 40-year-old resident of the affected apartment desperately tried to get to safety by jumping onto a balcony. But this courageous attempt ended in a serious injury that forced him to save the fire brigade using aerial ladder. In the meantime, a 78-year-old resident was slightly injured from another apartment and also brought to safety. At first another resident was missing, but the fire brigade quickly found that it was not in the building.

Fire brigade use in full swing: cause of the fire remains unclear!

The fire brigade fought tirelessly against the flames and was finally able to control the fire. Nevertheless, the attic apartment was completely destroyed by the fire. The cause of the fire is currently still unclear and the police have started the investigation to bring light into the dark. The dramatic events shocked the residents and provided the emergency services with a major challenge.
