In Lauffen am Neckar there was a change of management that is important for local police work. Police Councilor Lisa-Maria Klesse took over the management of the police station on October 1, 2023 after the first police chief Joachim Geier had managed this post since April 2023. Geier handed over the office in a solemn ceremony and will now take over the management of the leadership group of the Raufen district.
"I would like to thank Mr. Geier for the exemplary work and professional management of the police station Lauffen in the past year and a half," said police vice president Markus Geistler during his speech. Klessen, which returns to the Baden-Württemberg police after 22 years of service in various functions, brings an impressive career.
a new section for Lisa-Maria Klesse
Lisa-Maria Klessen, 39 years old, started her career at the riot police in 2002. Your experience ranges from patrol service at the Bietigheim-Bissingen police to various management positions within the Heilbronn police. In 2019 she completed her studies for the higher police enforcement service and was most recently head of the prevention department at the Heilbronn police headquarters. In her new role, Klesse will be responsible for the security of around 85,000 people in the catchment area. To cope with this will be an exciting challenge, not least because of the 2,460 criminal offenses and 1,600 traffic accidents in the area of responsibility.
In her new position, Klesse will run a team of around 60 colleagues. The ceremony for the handover of the office was shaped by greeting by police director Eva Weispfenning as well as deputy mayor Rotraut Schmalzried and the chairman of the staff council, Jörg Reutter. Everyone honored the work of the outgoing district manager Geier and the entry of Klesse into their new role.
"I am particularly pleased that I can use Ms. Klesse to put the third woman in a leadership position at the Heilbronn police headquarters this week. The increase in women's quota in management positions is a positive step for police work in the region.
The change in police leadership could bring a fresh wind to local security work and possibly promote new approaches to fight crime. In its new function, Klesse will face the challenges associated with the management of the area and use their extensive experience to further improve the security situation in Lauffen.
