In a dramatic incident, numerous commuters from the Weinviertel have to deal with massive train failures. According to the ORF , four buses are currently used as rail replacement traffic, and two more buses were also ordered. The disorder affects both the regional trains and the quick railway, which normally drive towards Vienna every 20 minutes. This unexpected situation forces thousands of commuters to switch to cars, which leads to fully occupied park and ride systems, especially at the Gerasdorf train station.

The increasing construction work on the rail network is one of the main causes for the currently taking of train. As the Bahnblogstelle has multiplied since 2019, with currently around 2,300 trips a day. The managing director of DB SEV GmbH, Frank Nostitz, emphasizes that you are doing everything possible to maintain the mobility of passengers despite the circumstances. The challenge is that travelers who have to switch to the buses have to change quickly, since the railway line between Frankfurt and Mannheim is currently closed. Despite the switch to buses, the feedback from passengers is mostly positive, which shows that well -organized replacement traffic takes into account the needs of the travelers. Around the clock, 30 dispatchers in the Berlin control center are busy analyzing the requirements and using the buses efficiently.
