Restart for Wertheim Clinic: Rental contracts are signed!

A crucial step for health care in Wertheim is imminent! On Monday, the rental contracts between the urban development company (StEG) and the future operators of the former Red Cross Clinic will be signed. This is done as part of a large -scale plan that aims to revive the clinic and the establishment of an emergency supply. The city administration has already made all preparations to celebrate this important moment.

The concept that was approved by the regional council provides for the creation of the Wertheim Citizens' Hospital, which will be equipped with 80 beds for surgery and internal medicine. In addition, an emergency room is set up with a special stroke unit in order to treat strokes quickly. Another highlight is the new Center for Bariatric Surgery with 15 beds. But that's not all: Mediclin AG will offer a unique neurological rehabilitation with 88 beds in the region and also takes over the operation of the kitchen and cafeteria. The already established dialysis center also remains and will continue.

The signing of the contracts is accompanied by prominent personalities, including Wertheim's mayor Markus Herrera Torrez and the department head Helmut Wießner. Managing Director of Bürgerpital Wertheim gGmbH and Mediclin Campus Wertheim GmbH will also be present to testify to this historical moment. The preparatory work of the municipal council, which has already made a compensation and care agreement for financial support for emergency care, shows how serious the city is with health care. Up to 2.75 million euros annually could be provided to cover deficits.

The city of Wertheim faces a challenge: despite tax increases and savings in investments, the support of the district and neighboring municipalities are dependent. The Stuttgart regional council has already expressed concerns about the approval of the household 2025. The coming days will be decisive for the future of health care in Wertheim!
