Verden karate talents fight bravely: Maksim Strelkov becomes seventh!
In an exciting competition at the German Championship of the U12 and U14 in Ludwigsburg, Maksim Strelkov achieved a remarkable seventh place from Verden! Despite the high expectations and the intensive preparations, the big breakthrough for the other participants from the Karate Association Bushido Verden failed to materialize. Trainer Ulrike Maaß commented on the mental blockages of her protégés and emphasized that the hoped -for placements were not achieved, but still remains optimistic.
The U12 fighter Kirill Iwaschina and Kiran Deibele could not convince in their weight classes. Kirill, who fought up to 32 kg, clearly lost his first fight and retired after his opponent was defeated in the Poolsinale. Kiran didn't do any better; He also left after a defeat in the first fight. Maass had no high expectations, but was still disappointed that both of them did not get any further. "Either the nervousness was too great or the concentration simply did not give," said the trainer.
Manuel Reich's fighting spirit and Maksim's perseverance
Manuel Reich, who competed in the U14 (-55 kg), was motivated to the tips of the hair, but that was exactly what prevented him from finding his rhythm. "He only ran afterwards, his focus was not given," said the trainer. Maksim Strelkov, on the other hand, showed an impressive performance in the U14 (-50 kg). After a strong first fight, which he won 7-1 against an opponent from Baden-Württemberg, he also prevailed 4-0 against a talent from North Rhine-Westphalia. But in the decisive third fight against Florian Braunroth, Maksim did not find his shape and missed the quarter -finals. However, he was able to collect again in the consolation round and secured seventh place - a success that can be celebrated despite the challenges!
