Marbach is fighting for a new industrial area: Hainbuch wants to expand!

In a current step, the Stuttgart region drastically reduced the planned industrial area between Marbach and Erdmannhausen in the Ludwigsburg district. This decision was made because the construction plans were violated, which further delayed the implementation of the inter -municipal project. Despite these setbacks, the city concerned shows the will to drive things forward.

"We have to step on the accelerator here now," said city planner Elena Glasbrenner recently in the committee for the environment and technology of the Marbach municipal council. The reason for this is the Hainbuch company's great expansion request, an important employer in the region. However, the originally planned area of nine hectares must be reduced to only 1.6 hectares. This is necessary so as not to violate the current regional requirements.

criticism of the existing parking lot

The decision to reduce the area was not made without discussion. Matthias Laukenmann, representative of the Greens, expressed concerns, especially with regard to the existing provisional parking lot. "The area is completely sealed and does not offer a habitat for animals or plants. This should not be accepted," said Laukenmann. Mayor Jan Trost promised that this parking lot will disappear with the construction of the new industrial area.

In the meantime, the Hainbuch company plans to expand its production capacities, which could be associated with new jobs. Sylvia Rall, the managing director of Hainbuch, emphasized that climate protection would also take into account the new construction projects. However, there is still no concrete date for the start of construction, because the development plan must first be determined. "The municipal council has already approved the reduced area cut," said Rall recently.

The Stuttgart region, represented by the Stuttgart Region (VRS), has both recognized the importance of this project as well as the challenges associated with the planned area. The concerns about the cutting of green areas are a central topic that must be considered in the upcoming plans.
