Arsenalplatz, Ludwigsburg, Deutschland - A green miracle in Ludwigsburg! The Arsenalplatz turns from a parking lot into a green oasis. The city has deliberately decided to plant in late autumn to offer the trees in the vegetation rest the best growth conditions.
A total of 60 trees will adorn Arsenalplatz, including 31 majestic blue -bell trees, nine elegant bird cherries and eleven magnificent chestnuts. Mayor Sebastian Mannl raves: "This grove offers a shady roof and invites you to linger with various seating options." In the center of the new park, an impressive Baumhain with 51 trees will be built, supplemented by 11 older chestnuts that are already there. A new cord tree is enriched the green area in front of the state archive and harmoniously integrated into the existing ensemble.
innovative irrigation systems for sustainable growth
The city has not spared any effort to create optimal growth conditions. Special substrates are used in the planting pits, while innovative irrigation and ventilation systems ensure that the trees are well cared for in the first five to seven years. A cistern on the Arsenalplatz will collect rainwater, which is later used to irrigate. In addition, a water -bound route in the entire Baumhain ensures the restraint and evaporation of rainwater to cool down on hot days.
But that's not all! In the coming year, the Arsenalplatz will continue to be upgraded by planned paving work and a catering pavilion with toilet facility. Mayor Mannl is enthusiastic: "We are really looking forward to the new Arsenalplatz. He makes a big contribution to climate protection and climate adaptation and will certainly be a popular meeting place in the city."
