New Year's reception in Lörrach: Change and new challenges!
The Catholic parish of Lörrach -zlingen celebrated its New Year's reception, which was the last reception of the community in the current form before it was integrated into the Großpfarrei Wiesental Dreisel border. The transition to this new large parish was a central theme of reception, reports the Badische Zeitung .
The festive service, which was led by the pastors Joachim Giesler and Yves Irakoze in the Sankt Fridolin church, included the use of frankincense. During the service, the set procedure against Pastor Giesler, Thorsten Becker, was also mentioned. The public prosecutor's office Lörrach had investigated due to the suspicion of infidelity against Becker. However, the procedure was terminated after Becker made cash payments to the parish and a social institution. Pastor Giesler expressed that essential questions remained unclear and the parish could therefore not make an opinion. Despite these challenges, many want to complete the matter and look ahead.
