Heidenheim is subject to more luck in Kiel: Trainer Schmidt demands more luck!

Kiel, Deutschland - The disappointment is deep! FCH coach Frank Schmidt comments on Holstein Kiel after the narrow 0-1 defeat and emphasizes: "You don't have to lose the game, we could have taken a point with us." According to Schmidt, the Heidenheim players did everything and worked hard, but in the end the decisive bit of luck and the necessary calm were missing to at least achieve the balance.

The first half was an exciting duel. Schmidt emphasizes that his team had probably the best chance of the game. Niklas Dorsch fit on Leo Scienzia in the 23rd minute, but he failed on the goalkeeper in Kiel. The rebound landed with Paul Wanner, whose shot was blocked on the goal line. But instead of taking the lead, the Heidenheimers had to accept the gap in the 28th minute. Schmidt explains: "We could not clarify the cross in the free kick twice and then did not run."

Kiel lurks and countered

In the second half, Kiel took over the game and lurked on counterattack. Schmidt notes: "We had a lot of the ball, but at first we couldn't score a chance of scoring." In the 65th minute, substitute Mathias Honsak missed the opportunity to equalize when his header did not go online. Despite the offensive efforts by the Heidenheimers, the Kiel's counterattacks also remained unused. Schmidt is resigned: "We have to accept the defeat and will quickly get the heads up."
