Bus passengers in turmoil: Warning strikes announced throughout Baden-Württemberg!
In Baden-Württemberg, the Verdi Warnstreks union announces at bus companies. The reason for the strikes are failed first negotiations on salaries and the remuneration of trainees who took place on December 18, 2024 without an offer from the employer being submitted. Verdi presidents report that around 9,000 employees will be affected in the private bus industry.
The warning strikes are scheduled for Thursday, January 9th and Friday, January 10, 2025. A total of around 30 companies from various counties are affected. The aim of the strikes is to put pressure on the Baden-Württemberg bus company (WBO) employers' association before the second round of negotiations on January 15. Verdi calls for a 9 percent and 100 euros more for trainees for a term of twelve months.
Details on the announced strikes
The following strikes will be carried out on January 9:
- in the Esslingen district: all -day strike (Fischle company).
- in the district of Reutlingen: Streik begins from 9 a.m., rally at 12:30 p.m. at ZOB Reutlingen.
- in the district of Tübingen: Streik begins from 9 a.m., rally at 10 a.m. on Zob Tübingen.
On January 10th, a full -day strike in the Göppingen district is planned, with a rally at 10 a.m. on ZOB Göppingen.
The warning strikes will have an impact on city and overland traffic, although in most strikes of companies there is no line operation on the respective days. However, the effects on passengers are unclear and vary depending on the city and region. Like n-tv reported, among others, Reutlingen, Schwäbisch Hall, Heilbronn, Ludwigsburg, Bietigheim, Stuttgart, Böblingen, Hemmingen, Waiblingen and Backnang affected on Thursday, while on Friday Göppingen, Geislingen, the surrounding area of Heilbronn, Karlsruhe, Pforzheim and the Stuttgart area will be affected.
The employer side, represented by the Association of Baden-Württembergian bus company, is currently working to clarify the effects of the warning strikes, such as swp.de reported .
